The FARMERS Project is a technical assistance project funded by the European Union, implemented by GIZ International Services with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The project aims to support agricultural recovery in the provinces most affected by the February 6, 2023 earthquakes: Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, and Malatya.
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the sustainable, inclusive, and resilient revitalization of the agricultural sector in earthquake-affected areas, strengthen rural livelihoods, and enhance food security. In line with this, Component B of the project (Human Resources Facilities) is going to start, and it will focus on addressing workforce losses in agricultural production, facilitating access to required human resources for producers, and increasing the economic participation of vulnerable groups.
Component B consists of two complementary programs:
- Labour Support Programme (LSP)
- Internship Programme (InteP)
Target Group of the Labour Support Programme (LSP): Seasonal agricultural workers, women, young people, persons with disabilities, refugees and unemployed people who want to work in agriculture.
Target Group of the Internship Programme (InteP): Youth aged 18–35, graduates of agricultural vocational high schools and vocational colleges, NEET youth (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), young women, persons with disabilities, and young refugees.

The purpose of the assignment is to provide participants under the Labour Support Programme (LSP) and Internship Programme (InteP) of the FARMERS Project (Component B) with technical knowledge and practical skills regarding the core principles, methods, and applications of animal production, including cattle, small ruminants, aquaculture, and beekeeping.
Assignment Details:
- Period: 01.11.2026 – 31.12.2027 (A total of 5 training cycles: 3 for LSP and 2 for InteP).
- Duration of the assignment: The trainer will provide a total of 25 days of service for each province applied for, as follows:
- LSP (Labour Support Programme): 12 training days (3 cycles × 4 days) + 3 days for module preparation = 15 days in total
- InteP (Internship Programme): 8 training days (2 cycles × 4 days) + 2 days for module preparation = 10 days in total
- Total service period per province: 15 + 10 = 25 days
- Place of assignment: Applicants may apply for one or an additional neighboring province among Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş,Malatya, Adıyaman, and Hatay. Applicants must clearly indicate their target province(s).
- Structure the training curriculum at two distinct levels according to target profiles and durations: foundational application level for LSP; detailed enterprise-management level for InteP.
Training Activities under LSP (Labour Support Programme):
Designed for current livestock workers to build core knowledge and proper care/hygiene habits through practical farm application:
- Deliver core concepts, production cycles, and performance metrics across regional livestock structures and subsectors.
- Explain fundamentals of animal nutrition and feed utilization.
- Conduct practical demonstrations on shelter hygiene, bedding management, and milking hygiene.
- Build foundational awareness regarding basic herd health and disease prevention.
- Cover essential practices in beekeeping and aquaculture.
- Inform participants on animal welfare principles, statutory recording requirements (TÜRKVET, ear-tagging,
- Beekeeping Registration System - AKS), and livestock subsidies; guide them towards District Directorates and cooperatives.
Designed for young entrants (aged 18–35, NEET) to build technical competency and practical herd/enterprise management skills:
- Teach herd management and farm enterprise planning principles.
- Deliver practical training on feed ration formulation and feed management.
- Cover reproductive management, fertility optimization, and breeding strategies.
- Provide detailed technical training on milk quality standards and automated milking management.
- Detail colony management techniques in beekeeping.
- Deliver aquaculture production management from a commercial farm perspective.
- Provide practical training on regulatory tracking and support systems (TÜRKVET, AKS, Aquaculture Registration System, livestock subsidy applications).
- Integrate animal welfare, occupational health & safety (OHS), waste/manure management, and environmental sustainability into farm management operations.
- Link classroom training directly with enterprise activities at internship placement sites; guide interns in technically evaluating observed livestock practices.
Training Delivery, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
- Deliver interactive, practical, and participant-centred training (group work, case analyses, role-playing, farm demonstrations); ensure full compliance with attendance registries.
- Incorporate learning adaptations for vulnerable participants (women, low-literacy individuals, persons with disabilities).
- Submit a standardized "Training Outcome / Evaluation Report" post-training cycle, incorporating participant metrics, covered modules, methodologies, field observations, recommendations, and photo logs.
- Administer participant satisfaction surveys and analyse feedback for continuous course improvement.
- Ensure accurate data entry into project monitoring frameworks and indicator databases.
- Maintain content coordination with other primary trainers (crop production, agri-entrepreneurship) to eliminate topic overlaps.
- Collaborate closely with the Technical Support Team (TST), Lead Organization, Provincial/District Directorates of Agriculture, and relevant producer unions/cooperatives.
- A degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine or a relevant department of a Faculty of Agriculture, such as Animal Science or Fisheries; alternatively, a degree from a relevant vocational school together with 11 years of relevant professional experience.
- Knowledge of livestock farming, fisheries and aquaculture, and beekeeping in the region, as well as post-earthquake conditions.
- Strong knowledge of animal production systems, including fisheries, aquaculture and beekeeping, and agricultural labour practices.
- Fluency in Turkish. English proficiency at B1–B2 level is considered an asset.
- At least 7 years of general professional experience.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in one of the following fields: livestock farming, fisheries and aquaculture, beekeeping, agricultural extension, agricultural training or related fields.
- Strong technical expertise in animal production systems, husbandry practices, and agricultural labor dynamics.
- Experience working on projects funded by the EU or other international donors is considered an asset.
- Experience delivering training in the project region is considered an asset.
- Experience in vocational education and training, workforce development or capacity-building programmes is considered an asset.
